Long Time Visitor, But Just Joined the Site Original Post by Julie Binegar at 3:45 PM PST on 06/05/2004 Canton, OH I have wanted to join this site for quite a while, but was hesitant because I didn't want to "intrude". You see, I just received my date for surgery (July 12th), but I'm not going to be a patient only. I also work at the site that I am having the surgery done. And I didn't know if I would make members of this organization uncomfortable and make them feel like they couldn't say what they wanted to if someone who works in "the business" started posting. But I realize that even though I know what I am getting myself into as far as the procedure, I still need a little moral support now that it is all becoming so real. But if anyone thinks that it isn't appropriate for me to be here, please just say so. Absolutely no hard feelings, I'll just go back to visitor status. Either way, it is a blessing to read what you all have to say.

Not at all, welcome to the site. There are many people like you. We have several people in our local support group who had surgery where they worked. They shared tips n tricks to get better treatment in the hospital etc.

Hi Julie, So happy to have you join us! and Congrats on your receiving your date! I had my surgery at Barix in Groveport and several members of the staff there had either had the surgery or was planning to have it there! They brought an interesting point of view to the whole process. You are right where you need to be! Stay and come as long as you like..I'm sure we'll enjoy sharing with you! and good luck on your future changes! V.
