Hello, I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with gallbladder attacks after the RNY? I had the worst one and landed in the ER and then placed in the hospital. After the ultrasounds and the hydrascan they found that my gallbladder is not functiong properly so I have surgery tomorrow to remove it. They will do it via lap. Has anyone had this ? I do not want to feel that pain again. I think it was worse than the recovery from the RNY. I could not even hardly breathe!!! Please let me know. I am not nervous about the surgery, but am wondering if this has happended to others. I am sure it has! Please let me know and also I want to thank everyone for always being here to answer my questions. Love & Peace, Sasyshorts

yes, gallbladder attacks are pretty common after the RNY surgery, most patients are put on a gallbladder medication called Actigall for 6 mos after surgery to prevent stones from building up. The medication doesn't prevent the gallbladder from malfunctioning. It usually takes a few years before you feel the symptoms....yes definately get it out! you'll feel so much better... good luck and Take Care
