Post-op Question
Hello Faith; I am a M.A. w/ a bariatrics hospital, we like to see our patients lose at 50% of their excess weight ( it's lower the more you have to lose)but a good rule of thumb is lose at least 50 -75% of the excess weight by the first year and u r on the right track!!
Remember - drink lots of water, lots of protein (I'm not sure if you were given a daily protein goal, but it's important!!) and stay away from fructose and simple sugars (watch sugar alcohol contents, too)and high fats last but not least walk, walk, walk.......
I am 6 months out and have lost 145lbs at that time. I am 1 weeks over 6 months now and have lost an additional 5lbs. I had 227lbs to lose to get to MY goal of 200lbs and be in size 38 jeans have not been there since high school. I am 77lbs and 2 sizes away to reaching my goal hope to be there by my 1 year anniversary. Best wishes to you!!!!!!
