My insurance (Summit) has told me that they exclude the surgery. Does anyone know if I have any other options with them. Also, being from Springfield, Columbus and Dayton are options too but my dr. has referred me to Dr. Spiers (1st appt 4-28). So I'm looking at paying for the surgery myself (loans). Does anyone have any good advice to offer about options when paying for the surgery yourself. I'm assuming since its excluded from my insurance there is no use in appealing . My sister had this surgery on my birthday July 30, 2003 and has lost over 100 lbs. her insurance paid for her surgery tho.

Bev, Have you tried to appeal with your insurance company or your H.R. rep through work? Sometimes the wording can make a differeance. Is there any chance your insurance company will be changing in the next year or so? If it is, you may want to wait and check into that first. As for paying for yourself. I know alot of people have taken out their 401k's , 2nd Mortgage, emptied their savings accounts, and so on. I wish you the best. Hugs Lori
