Please say a few prayers
Hi Everyone, my name is joe and i am lori's husband. Yesterday she went in to get her gallbladder removed and instead ended up in ICU. As they placed the tube down her thoat she vomited and it went into her lungs. They immediatelty placed her in an ambulance and rushed her to OSU east in Columbus, some 30 miles away when there were 2 closer hospitals.
on the way there, she fought the ambulance people, so they had to restrain her. The whole time she was unconouis. They had to sedate her so she wouldnt hurt herself. We were told she wasn't life threatened. But it sure looks different to us with all the tubes, wires, and the fact that they are keeping her in a drug induced coma.
She is being restrained to the bed as she is still fighting. Trying to pull out the breathing tube. She almost succeedthis afternoon, but luckly, someone walked in just in time to catch her....
Please say a prayer or two for her as I know she has met some great people on this site. Thanks
Joe

I found this on the Ohio Messageboard..and I know that Lori also uses this board and i didn't see it here, so I thought I'd pass the request along.

Thanks Teresa,
I didn't see it... but I'm glad it was.... there were hardly any replies to the Ohio post and I wanted to be sure that people here knew!

Hi Venita,
Yes I sure will pray for her. I just went thru the same thing with my dad. But his was surgery for a mass in his stomach area. When they were bringing him out from under the anestesia he vomited and it went into his lungs. Pneumonia is a real risk with this. They also keep him sedated. But told us the sooner he was breathing on his own again the better his chances of coughing up this stuff.
God Bless
Carmalla

Joe, I just got out of the hospital a few days ago. My oxygen levels dropped when I was in the recovery room and they intubated me also. I woke up and fought them and tried to pull it out so they put me back to sleep. It was a major panic attack! I know it looks scary, but she's much better in that drug induced coma than trying to be awake with that thing in her. It is truly a frightening, uncomfortable thing. It hurts your throat, it makes you panic, and it prohibits you from talking at all. We will pray for her.
