ohio medicade question

does anyone in ohio now if the state (medicade) will help me with wls? I do have insurance w\but their is a exclusion for wls. It is just me and my husband and i can not do self pay. I am even willing to pay a small monthy fee for the ohio medicade......

I was approved for WLS with Ohio Medicaid. But I have never heard of paying a monthly fee for Medicaid coverage. I thought as an adult you either had to have kids or be disabled to qualify with limited income. I could be wrong...things change. But yes, Medicaid will cover WLS.

I think if you do not have children, but have outstanding medical bills, Medicaid might help you. But if you already have a primary insurance it is doubtful. But give them a call, see if there is a buy in program. Medicaid doesn't cover all those that request WLS either. I've been on this journey for 5 yrs now and so far, either dr's stop taking medicaid, or my PCP has been slow. He has now submitted my letter of med. neccessity, wish me luck!
