I was rejected by my insurer yesterday. They're insisting that I do a 6 month physician supervised weight loss program. The kick is my insurance expires in 6 months! I wish all you well and hope that WLS surgery gives you back your lives.

Do NOT give up!!! There are other insurances! I have been reading about people who take jobs just because they find out that the company has insurance that COVERS weight loss surgery! One was Longenberger Baskets, another was in Cleveland, can not remember the name. Do the 6 months as asked! Make sure the doctor writes the weights down in the progress notes. Then, look around for another job that you find out they have insurance that covers the surgery. The insurer part of this site is wonderful. Ask your friends on here what insurance they had that covers it. I hope and pray that it works out for you!! I get soooo mad at the insurance companies! Hang in there!

Is your insurance expiring because of a job situation. Then COBRA might be able to be used. Don't give up. Keep fighting. Get with PCP and figure a way for the 6 month supervised diet.

Don't give up the fight! Just because you need the 6th month diet doesn't mean you need to give up. There are alot of other options out there for you. Cobra, supplemental insurance, if you have kids there is healthy families medicaid, and some other choices for you. If your losing your insurance due to losing your job, well, you might want to go ahead and do the diet. That way if you get another job with insurance you will have already had it done. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. Please don't give up so soon. I know how frustrating it can be, but if you want it bad enough, you'll get it done. Hugs Lori

Thanks to all *****plied to my post. As I wrote to them, I'm on COBRA now due to loss of job and cannot return to work due to caring for my husband who is now an invalid. My best to all.
