I have a date - May 24! How will I be feeling 2 weeks post-op?
Yeah... I have a date! May 24! I can't believe that this is finally happening. But my May 24th date may conflict with some other things that I have scheduled. I have a wedding to go to June 5 (I will be decorating the cake) and a baby shower June 6th (I will be hosting for a out of town friend). This will only be 2 weeks after my surgery... so my question is how well do you think I will be getting around 2 weeks after surgery?
I'm on a wait list for an earlier date, but right now the doctor (Dr. Vig at the BTC in Groveport, OH) is booked so unless there is a cancellation I'm sticking with current date.
I considered postponing it, but darn it I don't want to! I have a work function in late June and I will be traveling to Hilton Head and I would like to attend after I've lost a little weight! But I am concerned on how I will be feeling for this event as well... I don't want to do too much and harm the healing process.
Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks much... Michelle
Oh... and I would love to have the support of an angel!
Michelle,
Good morning. I had my surgery at BTC, Ohio as well. Mine was 39 months ago now. At 2 weeks, I went back to work at a desk job. That's what I was doing at the time. But of course this was sitting and answering the phone and really nothing else.
How you would feel to be decorating a cake, and hosting a shower, is kind of a big question. I really think you would be pushing it. Since you will be on liquids still, you aren't going to have the energy like most that are on pureed foods by this point.
If I were you, I would either postpone the surgery, or back out of those committements.
I am from Cincinnati, Ohio. I have both a Support Group here, and a website that's known all over the world. I would be happy to help you in anyway that I can. Just visit imnotfatanymore.com (just put the three www's before that). My phone number is on the Contact Page of the website. Feel free to call me anytime day or night.
Good luck. You will be in great hands with BTC.
