Need help a.s.a.p.
HI Melissa,
It is good to know that you haven't been swayed by the fact that you don't have the funds yet to go forward with you surgery and that you are still trying.
If you have kids, there is healthy families medicaid. Have you tried getting disablity, or medicaid? OSU takes medicaid and medicare. Also when researching insurance for my mom, I found quiet a few policies on insure.com. Just make sure you read their pamphlets (as some don't cover pre-exsisting conditions or Gastric Bypass) before you sign with one. Some started out as low as $30 a month.
I wish you the best in your journey and if you need to I am here to talk to.
Lori
Are you on any help from the state like Medicaid?? If you are you need to see your family doctor, and get a referall from them to see a surgon. They should be able to tell you who is close to you. Where are you located??
Then set up an appointment with the surgon, there will be some questions that you will have to answer. After turning this end just keep in touch with both doctors that they are keeping the ball rolling.
I am on Medicaid myself and started this process in Feb or 2003 and had surgery on Jan.12, 2004. This may seem like a long time but after I got things going-we had some trouble with communication between doctors- it did not take long at all.
I am 3 months out now and have lost 68 lbs. I still have a long way to go but getting there one day at a time.
Hang in there
