Support Groups in Cleveland and the BTC in Columbus
I am going through CCBS at St Vincents Charity Hosp. They have support meetings and seem to have alot to offer the patients before and after including a clothes exchange , excersise proragm and plastics surgeons for afterwards.
I also have MMOH supermed plus and was given info from CCBS - we have a 10k cap on obesity surgery so unless you can find other funding you have to pay the rest out of pocket. The pretesting is covered. You need to have a medical need - comorbidity: diabetes, sleep apnea... You will need a 5 year weight history - actual notes from your Doctors files. You will need to have behavioral study by a psychiatrist done before they will consider too. I added a personal letter and some pictures. The folks at CCBS take care of submiting the request, the surgeon writes a letter that goes along too.
Hope this helps - Good Luck
I actually was with Cleveland Clinic first but the time it took to get a surgery date was crazy. Also the cap depends on the plan your company has. I called my HR person and the billing company Accordia National and I don't have a cap. St Vincent didn't want to take all the paper work and blood work done at Cleveland Clinic so I refuse to start over again. I have sleep apnea, arthritis, leg and arm numbness, lower back pain, ankle swelling, the endocronologist thinks the beginning of osterporosis and I'm only 28....Hopefully they will approve me. I heard BTC has a good approval rate with my insurance company.
