I have only posted 1 time on the ohio board, I actually live in Ky. but had to go to ohio for a surgery date before the next millenium!!! My surgery is scheduled for Feb.17 in Dayton, Ohio with Dr. Derrick Martin.Right now I seem to be obsessing with finding the right vitamins, knowing what to eat post-op etc... Anyone have any opinion about the chewable children's vitamins verses the costly bariatric vitamins?? Also what are the optimum number of carbs daily AFTER you get in all your protien?

Anthem wouldn't cover the pre-natals, but they did cover the trinsicon. Instead of pre-natals, I just bought some vitamins at Sams. I think I paid $9 for over a year's supply. It appears that Anthem won't allow the prenatals for any male regardless of the purpose. The Sam's vitamins have everything the prenatals did, whith the exception of folic acid.

Sheila, I take the vitamin offered by Real Meals. It is "bypass friendly". For more information you can visit their website at www.protein-solution.com. As for the carbs per day, for a person trying to lose weight, 35 per day is a good number. Good luck with your upcoming surgery. Dr. Martin is a great guy. I have a Support Group in Cincinnati and a WLS Website. Stop by and visit sometime at www.imnotfatanymore.com. Love, Sandy Pierce
