MS AND WLS..NEED ADVICE

I HAVE R/R MS...I'M 40 Y/O....5 5 AND 270...MY PCP THINKS I SHOULD HAVE WLS,HAVEN'T SPOKEN WITH MY NEURO YET (APPT 2 10 04)..ANYONE OUT THERE WITH MS AND HAD WLS PLEASE EMAIL ANY ADVICE TO [email protected] THANKS

Barb, Your decision to have WLS should not be affected by your MS. Your weight loss results should be the same and your risk should not be appreciably higher. However I would not recommend the surgery "because" you have MS. It will only help you in the sense that your body will have less weight to carry around-there is no direct neurological improvement of which I'm aware. Dr. C

Barb, my aunt has had MS for many many years and had successful WLS 2 years ago. She'd do it again in a second! Good luck to you!!
