Looking for a surgeon in Columbus area who takes medicaid

I live in the Columbus OH area and have not had any luck finding a surgeon who takes medicaid. I have gone to a Dr. in Dayton and will be setting up a consultation if I don't find one closer soon. I spoke with the folks at BTC in Groveport and with the folks at OSU and they both said that all their docs will not take medicaid. Any help out there?? Thanks Angela

Hi Angela, I'm 6 weeks post op & am looking for a support group in the Columbus area. I had my surgery done in Alabama though. It took me so long to get the insurance approved, that when I was transferred here in early November for work, I decided to just go back to Alabama for the surgery. Did I see that you are in Marysville? I'm in that area too. Kari

Hi Kari! Sorry, I'm not that far into it yet to know where the support groups are. I know there are probably a few different ones in Columbus though. Yes I am in Marysville. Nice to know I won't be the only one in town who has had the surgery (taking for granted that I will have it done!) Angela

Hi! My surgeon is Dr. Tim Custer at Mid Ohio Surgical Assoc. I am pretty sure that they accept medicaid, give them a call!!! And also Mid Ohio Surgical Assoc. has a support group meeting the first Monday of every month, at Mt. Carmel West, Its wonderful!

I'm had WLS at OSU and they accepted Medicaid. I had Dr. Cook. Also, I am originally from Portsmouth and wouldn't recommend having WLS there. It's a good hospital for the area but there are SOOOO many better places with better WLS programs in the state.
