I was wondering if anyone from Ohio had gotten approval from workman's comp. for the surgery. I'm in the process right now. I just had the psych. eval. done, and now I need to have a cardiac exam done. Any info would be helpful. Thanks in Advance, Stacy Scholl

I didn't think workers comp. would cover something like this. I have been on workers comp since 91 for 3 herniated disc. and my activities had to slow because of it and now I am over wieght. How are you doing it for workers comp to pay. good luck they are tough I couldn't even get them to cover treatments at first had to hire an attorney to fight me. Let me know how it comes out. I've been on workman's comp. also since 1991. I fractured my ankle at work and just had amputation of the foot. I have been very immobile. Dr. Grandia is helping me to get obesity allowed in the claim. BWC did allow for the consultation for the surgery; but obesity has to be allowed in the claim first before they will pay for the surgery. So far, i just have to finish my counseling sessions for depression and have a cardiac exam. Then they said that I will be scheduled for surgery. I didn't even know that they got an approval already. I assume they did, because they are ready to schedule surgery. I also don't have obesity already allowed on the claim. So I'm not sure at this point what is going on. Dr. Grandia's office may be using one of the other 10 diagnoses allowed on the claim as a diagnosis for the surgery. I need to call his office today and find out what's up. Stacy Scholl
