I posted a message a few days ago about looking to Michigan for a surgeon. My parents live in Toledo and I would like to be close to home for the surgery since I will be off work for a while. I got some great feedback from the last messge I posted -Thanks a bunch for your suggestions and input.
One message I received said that the wait in Toledo just for a consultation can be up to a year and that the nurses are not very helpful in answering questions. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
Hi CHristine...not sure how much help I can be, but my cardiologist is at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, and he first recommended to me a Dr. Kligman there at the College. I would have used him if insurance had covered as I have heard many positive things about him and his staff. Hope I helped a little!

HI Christine--I am having my surgery at the Bariatic Treatment Center in Yipsilanti. My surgeon is Dr. Brian Lane. The people in the clinic are very nice and helpful. I am waiting now because of all the tests that must be done before you have the surgery. I am almost there. Good luch where ever you decide to go. If I can be of any more help Email me.
hi! i, too, am going to bariatric treatment centers (BTC) in ypsi-my surgeon will be dr poplawski-i am in insurance appeal limbo now otherwise everything there is wonderful--it is about 75-80 miles from toledo but worth the drive!everything is geared toward us-larger chairs, etc,in waiting rooms, very pleasant staff, very clean ,etcetcthey submit all pre-paperwork to ins company,etc.......email me privately as well-
and hi,debbie lisk!
Try Dr. White on W. Sylvania Ave. in Toledo. He is the surgeon who took over for my original surgeon, Dr. Richards. I am currently going to him to talk about a revision. If you can't find his number in the phone book, try looking up TSSI (Toledo Surgical Specialists Inc.)
Best of luck!
