I had open rny surgery with Dr. Martin on 11/11/03. Overall, it really wasn't that bad. I had went in with a positive attitude - that it wasn't going to hurt that bad. I was up and walking about 5-6 hours after surgery and continued to get up every 2 hours (on my own****il I was discharged. I felt tired and sore in the hospital. I didn't have really bad pain the entire. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being worst), I would say my pain was about a 4-5. Once I was home, my energy came back. I guess the fact that I was with family made a big difference. I didn't eat much for the first few days. My favorite "meal" was orange sugar free popsicles. I only took my pain meds for 3 days - Friday wen I was released, Sat. and Sun. By Monday, I was pretty much pain free. I thing the best thing to do is stay ACTIVE.

It can be a big change. Start now trying different protein samples. Do not buy cases of one as your tastes will change. Learn to love water n give up pop. It is an awesome and wonderful time. We are here for you.
