11/17/03 In Nov, 2003, I...
11/17/03 In Nov, 2003, I began thinking of bariatric surgery. Here it is a year later and I'm finally going in this Friday, 11/21/03. I'm scheduled for laproscopic surgery at University Hospital. I still have reserves about doing this.
I've been on crutches since May, 2002 and have since gone on disability at 53 years old. This is not how I planned my life to be. By reading so many responses on this web site, I feel alot more confident that I have made the right decision. I actually was supposed to have the surgery on 10/30/03 but was sent home after having I.V.'s attached to me due to a persistent cough. Since no other means of weight loss have been long term successful, I know this is the only way to go.
I will write after my surgery. Several of my friends have had it done and they are happy as larks. I hope I have the same results.
My thoughts and prayers are with you. This has been a life decision.--and a big one at that--but I figure now it is my turn,I'm tired of the constant battle. There is do doubt this adventure will be rough but after you are on the losing side for a little bit the sun will come out.
Good Luck to you,
Keep busy,
Let me know how things went. I'm still trying to figure out which surgery to have!!!!
