Dr Kligman,anyone?
From what I've heard, Mid Ohio Surgical Associates (Dr Custer & Dr Price), which is where I had my WLS, is experiencing about a 3-4 month lead time on the first visit and another 3-4 months for the actual procedure.
When I was waiting, I thought that was an extremely long time. In retrospect, I think the wait was a positive experience to ensure that you are really making the right decision for yourself.

I've heard that Dr. Kligman is changing the way he does surgeries now... He requires you to attend those meetings, then next summer he'll pick a certain number of patients he'll operate on. So being in a group meeting doesn't guarantee you a surgery, even if you do qualify.
I've heard of several folks being scheduled a year or even longer after they started the process.
Good luck to you

I called March 3, 2003 and got put in the seminar with Dr. Kligman in December 2003... geeze 9 month wait there. I'm still waiting on my PCP to get it together to send into my insurance for approval, he's lollygagging around. (arg) Then after the seminar, I guess they schedule you another 4-5 months down the road for consult and surgery.. WHO knows?
I did receive a packet from his office though, originally they told me that there wasn't one. I dunno I've talked to so many surgeons offices that I'm totally confused at this point.
