Has Anyone else gone to TASTE of Cincinnati this weekend?
I was looking for something to do yesterday. A street festival sounded good. Even if it was celebrating food. So what if I'm only 2½ weeks post op! I spent the better half of the day sampling food from this region. (I live in Winston Salem, NC~where there was nothing to do) In North Carolina when they review a restaurant in a newspaper you have to remind yourself that the local cuisine here is sad. (I'm a Yankee) This was the first day since my surgery that I actually ate the way I'm supposed to. First I had some delicious Lamb Curry and a taste of award winning Shrimp Masala. The lamb was already ground so I didn't have to exercise my jaw much. My next meal was a favorite of mine, Escargot. I ate about 6 snails mmm mmm good. Red Lobster had free samples of there new Salmon Salad, so I tried that too. I'd order it! At one point I ate bites from a well done filet mignon :o( Later I tried some Crayfish Etouffe and at that moment I found fullness. I saved that meal for much later. Before leaving TASTE I bought a chunk of award winning Key Lime Cheesecake for later that night. It was fantastic.
With 4 stages there was plenty of live music to be seen, heard & felt. I only wish I stayed longer instead of hitting the riverboat casinos in Indiana.
