I attend the support group in Solon. I like to consider us a Rogue group since we are all from different programs and meet independently. Good support and also keeps your feet to the fire! It is nice to get a little different perspective from all the different programs that we come from as well as different points of the journey that all of us are on

Mona,
We are meeting this Weds. night at 7pm. in Solon at the Methodist Church at the corner of Rt.91 and Cannon Rd. See Shoegirls post previously in this link. She is our group leader. If it wasn't for her and this group, I wouldn't be doing as well as I am. This is truly the best thing I have ever done for myself. EVER!! Hope to see you there. Getting involved in a group pre-op is a great idea. I wish I would have done it so I would have had a better idea what to expect.

Hi...I too have Dr. Ben-Meir as my surgeon at St. Vincents.
My surgery is scheduled for 7/19. I'm so very excited and scared at the same time. But I have great faith in the dr. I went through the six month diet, I also had to have a sleep study done. At my pre op my EKG was a little abnormal so I have to see the cardiologist on the 11th but the nurse from his office said its just a formality and I'd be fine to proceed with the surgery. My approval from my insurance only took 4 days!! I had read so many horror stories about how insurance companies refuse you then you have to re-submit and beg and plead your case with them....but they approved me right away :) How far are you into your six month diet? IF there is anything they want you to do for approval, make sure you get it all done in that six month period. I made that mistake. I waited until after my six month diet then went for the sleep study thinking they'd take me right away and I'd have the results right away. Well, it was about another 2 months before my letter could be put into the insurance company for approval. My husband has 2 months to go on his 6 month diet. Then he too is having the same surgery. If there are any ?'s you have I'd be happy to answer them for you the best I can.

Hello there! I'm two months into my six month diet. I should finish that up the first week of November. I've already done the psych eval and test and I'm scheduled for my sleep study next week. I'm not taking any chances and i'm getting it all done ASAP!!
I hope your surgery went well! When you get time, update us!
Anyone else, I go to the support meetings for pre-ops at SVCH and I'm thinking of attending the post-op meetings as well. Anyone else go there?
