Official West of Cleveland Hi Ya
Hi Lisa,
I just had my surgery Friday the 17th and was released from the hospital on monday 20th. I guess they needed my room for you! . We will be just a few days apart on surgery so could make good support for each other. I live on the west side of Cleveland by Ridgepark square. I am sure we will be able to meet at support group meetings.
Hope you are feeling good by the time you read this. I am still tender by my stitches, but that is to be expected. I go back on Monday for follow up.

Thanks, Liz...I really appreciate it. I've always been a water drinker - so the 64 oz. of water is no biggie, but the chicken, tuna, and fish thing is getting rather old...I need to change it up somehow, but thank GOD its nicer out so we can grill!
I believe you'll hear me holler all the way in Sheffield Lake when I do get approved, and will be popping on here to check in on ya, too. Thanks and have a great day.

Debber -- You might be surprised about the water. I have to takes smaller sips and sometimes I can almost feel it getting backed up and having to wait for it to funnel down (like a drain clearing) before I can drink more. It's strange, but it also seems to be getting better and being less of a problem all the time.
My go to (real food) proteins are shrimp, scallops & crab (real and imitation). Do you like scallops? Not sure what restrictions you have, but consider giving them a try if you haven't. Mmmmmm.
Hugs!

Hi Rob,
A lots happened since I last wrote - I had a whirlwind of a June - got my sleeve done by Dr. Brethauer on June 27th - I'm doing great - didn't have too much pain, but struggling to adjust to the amount of food I can eat. Total I'm down about 31 pounds since March, so I'm happy!
On the mushie/soft food phase currently, and just learned about "the world according to egg face" web site - I highly recommend it! Great tips and recipe ideas.
Write when you get a moment and let me know how you're progressing, and nice to know someone else who's sleeving in Ohio! :-)

Hi Deb,
I had it done June 24th With Dr Ben-Meir and have lost about 45 pounds. I lost 53 pounds on my preop diet so I am just waiting for those couple of pounds to do my happy dance lol. How do you guys get that thing on your post that tells how much you have lost and your goal? I have had lots of problems with bread, pasta. potatoes ( unless instant mashed) but tolerate rice. Meat is still rough most of the time too 9 weeks out.

Hey Rob,
Regarding the health tracker, you go into your account (My Account), and there you can add a picture, etc. Then you click on health tracker and there you can do all kinds of things.
I agree about the meat thing - my NUT told me when you have any meat at the table, put a dish of broth-albeit it chicken or beef - and dip your meat into that and chew, chew, chew. The moisture is what tends to help.
We're only a few days away from each other's surgery date - and I went for my one month NUT appt. on Monday - she said I've lost 24% of my body weight, which is GREAT! I have a goal to be in "ONE-derland" before the 11th of August. I sure hope I hit that goal. We will be flying to FL for my son's wedding on Aug. 13th, and the last time he seen me I was at my heaviest. I think he'll be surprised!
If you're having problems with your health tracker, just do a search from the top right corner of this web site, and type in your question. Good luck!

Hi Deb,
I hope you have a fantastic time in Florida at your son's wedding. Now that I am losing weight and feeling better I can't wait to go back to FT. Lauderdale myself. I have lost about 40 pounds since surgery and 94 since I started my diet back in October '10. Pretty close to 1/4 of my body weight. As far as the Meat goes.. it has gotten a little better the past week. I don't know if week 9 was my magic number but it seems that my stomach has relaxed a bit and i can consume a little more food which worried me slightly then I remembered that it was probably irratated and swollen for 2 months and now it is probably at full capacity.
