Day 3 post banding
I am on day 3 post banding and I am doing great. Monday’s surgery was good. The only problem was being stuck 6 times for the IV. They had trouble with every patient that morning. I had some gas but walking helps and I have had great success at "blowing" off steam!! Luckily my wife is VERY understanding
Day 2 was just as good. My belly button incision was sorer but no seeping or itching. I started pureed foods in the afternoon, pudding, V8 juice and a 1/2 banana in Unjury. For dinner we boiled a chicken breast and pureed it in the Cuisisnart and mixed that in cream of chicken soup. It was great! The funny thing was I looked at that 1/2 cup of soup and thought "I cannot eat all that! I did but it took 25 minutes. I was so happy! My wife and I walked several times outside 15 to 20 minutes and that felt great.
Day 3 has started off great too. My belly button incision is still the only sore spot. I did take to big a sip of my protein shake and it hurt a bit going down but this is a learning experience.
I have only used the pain meds about every 10 to 12 hours so far but I think I might be done with that too.
All in all it has been a wonderful experience. My wife has been such a fantastic help and encourager

I have had an easy time after surgery. I took my last pain meds on Tuesday morning. I did have quite a bit of gas for about 4 days but it was not painful, just uncomfortable. Three of my strips have came off and all my incisions look good. I have lost about 8 pounds since last Monday. I have to admit I am not holding to pureed foods. I have been eating crab cakes, chicken salad ran through the Magic Bullet, not pureed but smoother than usual. I am careful to chew everything to oblivian and I am staying to 1/2 cup servings. Protein shakes made with 1/2 a banana and a teaspoon of peanut butter is my healthy cheat!!!
Hang in there!

I had no pain. It appears that way with WLS. I was the lucky one. The good news is that the pain is short lived. You will find living with a lap band to be easy. I lost 80+ pounds. I blogged about my experience. You can read my story at http://jokiescafe.blogspot.com/search/label/Bariatric. As you read it, you can see that it is a roller coaster. There will be good and bad times. You are on a journey where you are redefining your life. My story ended very good. I feel great and am doing great.
