Hi Linda:

I had the DS and I have had no complications.  My doctor told me that he could not guarantee that my diabetes would ber eliminated immediately after the surgery since I have been diabetic for over 20 years.  Now the doctors think I will be off my insulin in about another month.  I had no other complication except from diabetes.  The surgery went with no problems except that I swoll up real bad which put my blood pressure up really bad and I had to stay in the hospital for two weeks until they got that under control.  My docotr suggested when I went into surgery with questions that the DS would be best for my situation even though my general practitioner want me to do the lap band procedure.  I am so glad I chose the DS.   Remember what works for one does not work for all.  Best wishes to you.
