Hello Everyone!

Need some advice please:

I have been approved for weight lose surgery. However, due to my insurance dragging their feet to approve this, I will have to wait until late November to have it done due to having to start my student teaching very soon.

I need to lose at least 35lbs before then and would like some food intake suggestions. I have yet to meet with my nutritionist and would like to have the weight lost prior to meeting with them.

I'd appreciate any and all suggestions you can give me.

Thank You in advance,

Steve

I would say protein.  And make sure you take vitamins.  I'm not anywhere near an expert, but I seem to do better when I eat protein.  Have a great day!

I would focus on making the changes NOW that you will have to make after surgery... focus on eating PROTEIN above all and limiting non-veggie/fruit carbs, fats, and sugar... and drinking lots of water.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

My doc had me do a pre-op diet that used high protein shakes and portion controlled meals (weigh****chers frozen meals and such)  I lost 21 lbs in 5 weeks on this diet.  Breakfast was 1/2 banana or 1 small apple and a protein shake.  I used slim fast high protein.  midmorning was a protein bar, lunch was one of the frozen meals, no more han 280 calories and at least 14 g protein along with 2 cups salad and 2 ablespoons low fat dressing.  mid afernoon was another protein shake and supper was 4 oz meat, 1/2 cup starch/carb( taters, noodles, corn, peas) and 1/2 c veggies.  this got me on a good start with the weight loss and I never felt hungry on it.
