Columbus Ohio Support Groups
Hi Sarah,
I've not found a general support group in the Columbus area...each of the surgery centers seems to sponsor their own. I know that the Barix clinic has a group and Fresh Start at Riverside does too. Does OSU's program have any regular meetings?
If you find anything else let me know, cause I'd be interested as well. Or, if you just want someone local to talk to, PM me.

Megan I am scheduled to have RNY with Dr Needleman on Wed aug twenty six ...my nbr pad does not work .....I would appreciate any comments from you or any advice. Right now I am nervous, how long are you in the recovery room, are they good about managing pain and stuff like that. I haven't gone to the support groups they have every other wednesday , I am a college student at OU Lancaster and It is somewhat of a drive for me. I can see myself doing this after my surgery. Good for you looks like you are well on your way to considerable weight loss. hoping to hear from you soon.

Hi ladies. My name is Kathy and I'm part of a central Ohio support group that combined forces because we met over the internet on www.lapbandtalk.com in the USA Local Support Groups under Ohio and then there is different thread there for Columbus, etc. there. We meet each month at the Polaris Mall food court in the corner area by Chik-Fil-A and Great Indoors. We have a range of ages from 30-60 yrs old (I'd estimate) and we have folks from OSU, Mt. Carmel, Riverside and self-pay lapband folks - several who went to Dr. Curry in Cincy. We became good enough friends from this support group sessions that some of us go and work out together at the gym, we've gone out for dinner together, and we have each other's personal phone #s and emails to contact each other directly. We have 'mentored' or supported several pre-op people inviting their questions to help them make their decision or not, we are very honest about what we have been through, etc.
I think we should start our own. I have been invited by an older group of ladies that meet at Polaris mall in the food court every Monday, but I would be the youngest one there. I have been trying to find one with people my own age also (32). Let me know if you would like to meet and start our own. My church would probly allow us to use a room there or we could meet somewhere public.
First and Fourth Wednesday of the Month at OSU 7pm-815pm
