Roll call for Dr. Rita Anderson's patients?

Hi Cee, thank you for getting back to me.  Yeah, so far I have not gotten to see much of her, the initial visit with her PA's I didnt get to speak with her but for a minute of two, but i totally understand she is very busy.  They told me everything I needed to know.  I just wanted to ask around and see what others thought of her and if their surgeries went well...

Now I notice you got the DS.  Do you know if she still offers that, or if she doesn't, why?  I just heard about DS recently and it was never really given to us as an option.  Some have said they think she stopped doing it, and I was just wondering if you had any insight on this...

Once I heard the rumor yesterday that she wasn't offering it, I wrote Susie an email asking if it was true and if so, why?  I sent it after hours, so maybe I'll hear back by monday or so. I'll let you know when she replies. I just find it so strange.

Thanks, T. :0)  I'm feeling pretty good now. And I hate driving the 3 hours for my follow-up appts, much less a party (and I don't celebrate x-mas).

And being non-compliant post-op is craziness. I mean CRAZY. *sigh*

Don't take this as the word, but from what I've found, Dr. Rita is not doing the DS any longer.  I'm sure it's an "option" for her patients, but from my standpoint it looks like there is a huge amount of DS patients that have not been compliant with the post op requirements.   That's one thing I love about Dr. Rita.. she has no problem telling patients NO.  She really is our best ally when it comes to surgery.

Yeah, I have heard this as well.  I was just curious.  I said she didn't mention it, but I may have been wrong, as the seminar was so long ago it seems.  I just remember the main two options she gave was the band or the RNY.  I trust the doc though, if she doesn't offer it anymore, there must be a good reason why...

Hi all!
I received my insurance approval in the mail Friday! I plan to go with Rita Anderson as well.

I plan on making a call there tomorrow to finally get the ball rolling.

Anybody know what steps they will have me do from here to my surgery date?

Oh wow! Thanks Tony!  I called the surgeons office today and susie wasn't there! But they basically told me the the same steps you did. Im done with the seminar, all the evaluations, the 1/2 day class.

Now its simply setting the date, getting all the tests done, and the appointment with Rita.

THEN SURGERY TIME!!!!!!! My nerves are a wreck!!!
