Getting married - need help finding somewhere to get a suit

Hi everyone!  i just joined the site today, and am looking for some suggestions.  I am in the Cleveland area, and have lost about 100 lbs so far.  I still have quite a ways to go though, as I am still at about 450lbs.

I am getting married at the end of the summer, and I need to find somewhere that I can get fitted for a suit.  We are not wearing tuxedos, just a normal suit.  I haven't had a suit for years, and earlier this spring I needed one to attend a wedding.  I tried ordering one thru the mail and while technically it fit, it looked horrible.  I really need to find somewhere that I can go "in person" to be fitted for a suit and get something that looks nice.

So....any suggestions on where to try???

Thanks in advance!!!

Have you tried Casual Male XL they also have a website CasualMaleXL.BigandTall360.com

Also try posting on the men's forum, you might get more suggestions.

Good Luck

Congratulations!!!  I too am getting married this summer and let me tell you- You probably have it easier ordering a suit than I had ordering a dress!  But I would suggest going to a local suit store not sure what they have in that area, but similar to a Blakes, casual male, Macy's, Lord and Taylor, etc.   If its not perfect just buying off the shelf, you can go to a tailor in town and they will make it fit you- there is no one in the world that fits perfectly into a suit off the rack- everyone needs to have clothes made for them in order for them to look JUST RIGHT.  Congratulations and good luck!

I know a lot of places have big and tall sections, but would a place like that have outfits for really big guys like me (450 lbs)?

I guess I'd have to call and inquire.

Thanks for the lead....

You might call Price Brothers in Dayton.  They have a big and tall section.  I plan to take hubby to get a suit there he needs a 54 long, I think and you can't find those in the stores either.  Good luck!  Otherwise, a good men's shop should be able to order what you need and tailor to fit.

Ok, I contacted them and unfortunately the largest size they carry in the Cleveland area is a 60.  Sadly, that won't do it.

Any other suggestions on places to check????

Sorry -- I live way down South so I have no idea about the stores in your area.  However I got to ask how long before the wedding ? And what kind of surgery did you have and when ?

Sorry -- don't want to sound nosy but depending on how long ago your surgery was and which one you had  -- you might drop a lot of weight and several sizes before Labor Day !!   You might be worrying for nothing !!

Good luck
