Getting married - need help finding somewhere to get a suit

I think Casual Male is probably the best bet.  My experience with Men's Wearhouse was that they don't do separates, and what I needed for jacket and trousers didn't match their standard suit sizing.

I found that separates did the best for me.  You might try the catalog department at JCPenney (jcpenney.com - mens - big and tall) although the one jacket I sampled only went up to 56 chest.

Rochester Big and Tall - 216-662-0131 - has up to 60 jackets on their web site.  Can't find an address for the Cleveland store, but this phone number came up when I googled.

So many of the ma and pa clothing stores that would cater to this type of need have gone out of business, and all that is left are the chain stores.  Based on where you are, I would try calling some of the local non-chains that are out there (Tichnors, etc.) and ask what they can do for you.

Good luck, and congratulations on your upcoming marriage!

Since I'm new here on the site, can you point me to the men's forum?  I wasn't able to locate it.

Thank you!!!

It looks like there might be one or two items that could work on that website.  i will have to check and see if they can get them in a store.

How tall are you and what is your inseam? I may just still have a like new 3 piece suit size 66 waist with a 31 in seam. I do not believe that my wife has gotten rid of it yet. With a little alterations it might be perfect. I came from the Men's Warehouse and I seem to remember it was over $600 so I hate to toss it out. If you can use it -- it's yours.

Thank you very much for the offer.  The inseam would certainly work - I only need a 28.  The pants would probably work too.  I am like a 60-62, depending on the fabric/waistband type.  However I have a large belly and so the size of the coat is the "deciding" factor in all this...  I suspect I would need something in the neighborhood of 72, but I am not certain, which again is why i would like to go somewhere that I can get fitted rather than try to "mail order" something...

What size is the coat?

Thank you again so much for your generous offer!!!

Hey I just saw your post.  Cant tell what kind of surgery you had or how fast you are losing.  I would like to suggest that you find a place to purchase or rent a suit, but dont get fitted until 2 or 3 weeks before you need it.  You could drop quite a few sizes in 3 months.

Actually, I haven't had surgery yet....still exploring that.  For the time being, I have been under a doctor's care and following a diet and exercise they have given me, along with some medications.  This is the first time in 20 years I have had this kind of success with weight loss.

I know I might lose more weight, but if I don't and I don't find a suit for the ceremony, my fiancee will kill me!!! LOL!
