VSG
Hi Sherri,
How long have you been in the program to get your VSG? I am having problems with Darcy returning my calls and getting things done as she should.
I called her 3 weeks ago with the phone numbers of the doctors who needed to get the release slips for my medical records. She said she would get the fax numbers. A week later she said they didn't go through and she would refax them but didn't have the fax numbers. I then called her back with the fax numbers and now finally 3 weeks later she has faxed the releases. She then called me to schedule the surgery clearance on Friday. I called back early Monday and she still hasn't called me back. I don't understand this.
Have you had this problem or similar problems? I am curious to see if I am the only one.
Let me know and thanks.
Debbie

Hi Debbie:
I've not had any problems at all with Darcy returning calls. Actually, she usually even picks up the phone when I call. Guess I'm hitting her at a good time. Try calling on a Monday morning around 9am. I know she's not in her office everday..something about being in clinic.
I was referred to Dr. Lane's office by my PC last November. They called me when they received the referral and we set up an appointment. Then the week of my appointment, I went to their informational seminar at the Hilton at UTMed. If you haven't gone to that, you should. I didn't even know about VSG until I went to that seminar. I saw Darcy and Amy at the first appointment. Darcy already had my insurance information and what was required by my insurance--which was 6 months with a nutritionist first. At that appointment I was also given a handful of preop tests that had to be done in the next 6 months. I did most of them in March.
Then I called Darcy the week of my last NUT visit and asked if she's received all the tests, medical records, and reports that were needed to submit to insurance. She told me what was missing and I followed up to get them to her. She submitted to MedMutual for approval around May 1st. It came through in about 1 1/2 weeks. She wanted to schedule surgery for May 20th, but I had scheduling issues with work and daycare, so we went with June 3rd.
I see Dr. Lane on May 21st for my pre-op and right after his appointment I have an appointment with my anesthesiologist. Then I'm good to go on June 3rd.
Sorry that was so long! I hope I answered your questions!!
