Insurance cover band removal/revision?

I know everyone's insurance coverage is different, so this is sort of a general question.

As a rule, if there's a medical reason to have a band removed or revised .... does most insurance cover that?

In short, I'm concerned  that IF for some reason there's a real failure and the band needs to be removed --- will I be stuck paying out of pocket to get the band out... or have it revised in some way?

Not thinking negatively, just exploring all possibilities.

Call your insurance and ask them. Some will only pay $$$$ total life time for all WLS including complications. Bet to call them.
Good Luck,
Robin

If insurance covered placement, they will almost always cover removal/revision.  Sometimes they will even if you were self pay, but not always.

Look forward to meeting you!

Thanks to both Robin and Dr. C for your responses.

I will check into my insurance to see what limits there may be, but it's a relief to know that most likely, I would be covered in the event of a complication.

See you tonight Dr. C!!
