Oh jeez, Lora!  Better for the new car to be totaled than you!  But still, I feel for ya.  What kind of brand new car was it?  (I'm nosy and drooling for a new vehicle, but I can't really afford it right now).

Having a wreck on the way to the dinner would probably make me a little gun shy for the next one.  Get a rental car, just in case!  And get the insurance!   And pray for sunny weather and snow free streets!!

It was a 2009 Honda Civic with the Navigation system.  I'm just glad I opted to get a less expensive new car and KEEP my old one (a Honda Prelude) rather than trading in the old one against a more expensive new one... otherwise I'd be stuck driving a rental car in all this snow and ice instead of a car that I am familiar with (no matter how poorly it does in the snow!).

WIth the economy the way it is, I'm having second thoughts about replacing the new car right now... but probably will anyway.

Freakishly small world, here Lora!  I work at Vandy!

And hang in there a bit on the new car . . . it looks like as part of the stimulus package, there might be a tax break on your (next year) federal taxes if you buy a new car.  Makes me drool and want a new Pilot.  I have 4 dogs and it's quite hard moving all 4 of them around in an Accord coupe.  Especially because two of them have a love hate relationship.  Sigh . . . someday.  Someday I will have a Pilot and maybe even get the Navigation package.

Until you figure out what to do, just securely wrap yourself in bubble wrap before you head out in the Prelude!  They're teeeeny!  And maybe we'll get a spring thaw soon so the roads will stay clear!

I'm glad for the cyber-glitch!  I'm having fun over here!!!

Wow... I am so glad you are physically ok!!!
If they are totalling your car then your frame must be bent.

Yep.  I looked at the car again today (had to get my license plates off it, etc. and noticed that there was light shining in through the edge of the moonroof (with the visor closed).. and it didn't do that before...
