I was put on prozac after a few months after open gastric bypass surgery in june 2008. I recently noticed I have been eating more and then due to weather had to go a few days without my prozac & had no appetite. I have been back on my prozac & eating more again. Anyone had this experience or advice?

I would be hesitant to blame the prozac for your increased hunger...one of prozacs side effects is actually loss of appetite...Its not recommended for anyone suffering from anorexia...when I was on prozac I lost 20 lbs. in the first month...this was preWLS....although everyone is different and each persons reaction to medication can differ.
Best of Luck

That is exactly what I thought & was suprised to feel that way. I can not  do without prozac. I just wish I could keep no appetite like without prozac & still stay sane.

Actually many people on ssri meds gain weight on them.  I gained a ton of weight on zoloft - if you goggle prozac and weight gain you will see articles about it.  If you think it is causing weight gain - then talk to your doc about trying another one - wellbutrin actually can cause loss of appetitie.  Don't go off of it on your own - your doc can work with you to find the right fit.
