I know most of them do but this day in age money is hard to come by.  I know the staff members work hard in getting you through the purpose but most of these fees are non refundable.  I can't afford to loose 400 to 500 dollars if i am not approved for surgery..   any one know of any????

I haven't had to pay anything up front so far...  I would imagine that after they reviewed my 20 some odd pages of paperwork I had to turn in before scheduline that they review it and if they have any doubts that insurance won't pay then they will tell you up front.
So far I've had a 3 hour class, and today I have my 3 evaluations.  2 weeks from tomorrow all my paperwork will be turned in for insurance approval.

my fee at UC surgeons was $300.  if I had not been approved I would have only lost about 80 of that I think for the materials and nut class. the rest would have been given back to me.  I am RNY but I  am pretty certain it was the same for lapband as well.

I paid $400 to Dr. Fegelman with Journeylite/Jewish Hospital Weight Management and they worked really hard to make sure I got approved.  From what I know Dr. Curry just started taking insurance.  Also, I called my insurance company and talked to them about what was required, where to send info etc.  I was the most annoying person until I got my surgery scheduled (got my call on Tuesday this week, surgery is April 6).  Good luck!!!
