If you could do it over again...
I was pretty nervous the last couple weeks leading up to surgery and excited all at the same time. While I'm only 3 weeks post op I can tell you this is the best decision I have made in a very long time. I had RNY and have been recovering quickly. I was back to work after only 1 week and am losing weight rapidly. My mind is also better as I am gaining more and more confidence and self respect daily. Seriously, I'm on cloud nine.
I just had RNY one week ago and I am so glad I did that! Yes, I would keep my procedure. More importantly, YOU need to do lots of checking around and evaluating before any logical decision can be made. It took me 6 months to decide which procedure to have, that would work for my eating issues. Good Luck! You will do great!
I did my ryn because I was so addicted to sugars that I wanted something that would make me physically ill to ingest sugar. I had my ryn in 2005 and honestly I have never tested the sugar. I probably have dumped on too much carbs in other types of foods, but I have set in my mind that for the rest of my life I will not eat sugar. It just won't happen.
I have found myself very prone to low blood sugar and I have had a baby since my surgery (surprise!) so I graze more than I should but I still have high awareness and I have hopes of getting back to my workouts once life isn't so crazy anymore.
