Well I have been denied until I do a 6 month diet

See... This is why I just kept going to the appointments because when I call the number on the back of my card 4 different people are telling me there is no specific amount of medical dieting needed. I am not going to give up...I am going all the way with this...I'll have my 6 month at the beginning of December...I wish I had the finances to just pay for it myself but I don't so I guess I have to do through this with the insurance company. hopefully in December I'll be posting my approval and I'll be able to help someone else.

I have Buckeye, and I was told by my PCP and my WL Surgeon that Buckeye requires 6 months of supervised dieting. The Financial Director at my surgeons office told me that Buckeye will approve WLS as long as you complete EVERYTHING they require you to do. The Financial Director said that she deals with Buckeye a lot, and the only time someone is denied, is if something hasn't been submitted to them that they require, but once that is done and submitted..they approve surgery! I wish you the best, and hang in there. It may be a pain in the butt right now, but it will be worth it in the end...Good Luck!

if you want to loose some weight before being approved for surgery....don't eat anything white....it's that simple....sugar, potatoes. rice, bread and so on...
