FINALLY GOT A SURGERY DATE!

I cant believe its finally real! The last thing I said to my Husband on Sunday night was all I want for my birthday is my surgery date.  Well yesterday Aug 11 was my birthday my husband called me at work and told me the good news.  It is really kinda a flood of emotions all at once.  I have researched for 5 years and the actual approval process took me a year and a half and I have waited a month from approval to get this surgery date.  I am excited, scared, happy all at once.  Its even funny some of the things that ran through my mind like "boy I should have eating a peice of that  birthday cake" LOL, but I am being good.  I have lost 20 lbs so far, and I dont want to gain before surgery.  I dont post much here but I always read. I can remember reading posts like this one and wondering if I would ever get here.  Wow! Finally its my turn. Thanks to everyone whose posts got me through all my ups and downs so far....

Great news for you!  It is such a relief when you get your approval and dates and soon you will be on your way!  Lots of luck on your surgery and recovery!  Let us know how everything goes, and of course there is always someone here to give you support!

Thanks everyone!  Yeah I have to say this was a great gift.  I am at work and I am finding it hard to work and not read the boards today. My surgery date is Oct 6 I was hoping for sept. but I am happy just the same!

Congrats Amy....this is an exciting and crazy time for you.  I too am awaiting my surgery which is set for the  28th.  Each day the excitement builds and the nervousness subsides.  Although, I'm sure the week of surgery I'll be a basket case.  I'lll be thinking of you.

Congrats on finally getting a date.  I had to wait a long time for mine too.  I remember all those same emotions.  The time from now until your surgery will fly by!!!  Keep up the good work!!!

THANKS!  It has been awesome to know I am on my way.  I too will be thinking of those with up coming surgeries.  It is very strange that one can be so excited about having surgery.  I have to say I have some moments when I am really really scared too.  I think everyone must go through that.  I think the same goes for me that I will really be nervouse the day of my surgery.  Right now I am trying to make plans.  Since I live in Toledo and having the surgery in Columbus I have a lot of planning to do for staying the night before my surgery and for my husband.  I have to even board my babies (the cat and 2 dogs).  I kinda fill like time is going to go too fast and I wont be prepared.  The only thing helping is that I have great family support.  Did anyones family get really nervous for them?  I notice that all along everyone was all for me to do this and they still are but I tend to hear a little more nervousnees in their voices.  Especially my mom and dad.
