Hey everyone i'm a newbie from Alliance OH. I'm currently fighting with my insurance to have the surgery covered. I'm scared and anxious to see what happens. Please let me know if you guys have any helpful hints.

Welcome Christy - there is so much to learn and you will find lots of info on this forum. Just click on the resources on the sides or goggle "obesity". I seached for info for months leading up to my surgery. There are also wonderful books out there as well. Let us know how we can help. Where are you having surgery? Most places have great support groups. Get into one early on so you can hear and see how others are doing. Good luck on your process and I hope you get a quick date.

Thank you so much for all the information. I've been researching it for a while now. I haven't technically been approved yet for the surgery i'm still waiting!!

I would like to have it at Summa health in Akron. I've already been to the meeting with Dr. Z. Just the dumb insurance holding me up.

Thank you all for the support. It's really nice to be able to talk to someone who has the same problems and the same feelings as me. I'm so emotional so it really helps.

My insurance is through AultCare. I believe that this company is centrally based in Canton OH.

I hope it happens soon, all this waiting is killing me!!!!

You had mentioned to me that they said it would be around 15 days till you heard something. How long has it been now? And remember, don't count the weekends. Thats what I'm always told anyway! Good Luck and keep us posted!!
