Dayton Area Support Groups

Good evening  all,

Is there any  open  wl  surgery groups in the Dayton area where anyone that has had  surgery is welcome to attend ?

Everyone is encouraged to attend a support group monthly. The same topics will be covered at each support group. Everyone is welcome to attend more than one support group per month. There is no cost for support groups. Hey Phyll,

I am attending the meeting at Sycamore next week so you are welcome to join me there.  Also there is a newly formed group of us that is getting ready to meet again next Saturday down in Mason.  It is just a get together, is not associated with any doctor/hospital, and we had our first breakfast last month.  If you go through the posts, it is probably about a week back.  Feel free to come play with us!

Every second Tuesday in Miami Valley Hospital there is also an open support group which meets first for all surgeries with a presenter and then breaks into groups by surgery.

It is closest to the Apple Street Garage in the Frederick Smith Conference Center.  Tomorrow is the meeting, they are at 6:30 pm.  This month is "Profiles in Weight Loss Surgery Success."   
Every month but July they meet on the second Tuesday at 6:30, they have a healthy picnic that month.

I am not sure where in Dayton you live, I live West and considered both Kettering and MVH for my procedure.

ooh I didnt miss wednesday's meeting!!  I was afraid it was the first wednesday.

I think I might make it...   (shouldn't be hard to miss either... at 6'9" I stick out like a sore thumb :P )

Had  a great time at last night's meeting.  I haven't laughed so hard or felt so good about myself in a long time.  It was great to be amongst peers and put names with faces. 
I think I'm going to try to catch the kettering meeting this month too.

Miami Valley puts on regular support group meetings where anyone can attend.
The best way to find out about the next meeting is to call 937-208-4968 then pick option 2.
They usually meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm and they plan to start a new meeting for Saturdays at 10am at the Miami Valley South Campus off of Wilmington Pike
