Hello from Maryland; Fellow Buckeye looking for OH surgeon.

Hi! I'm a transplanted Buckeye living in Maryland. My insurance won't cover a VSG. So, I'm looking for an Ohio surgeon that does lap VSG around Akron or Cleveland. I'm sure a self pay will be less expensive back home than here. And, I can stay/visit with family still in the area long enough to recover for the drive back to Maryland. Thanks for your help. Penny

Adrian Dan and J. Zografrakis do a variety of laproscopic WL surgeries at Summa-ACH in Akron. They have a Bariatric Center of excellence, and the folks I know who have gone there have wonderful results. However, I don't know anyone with a VSG myself.

Dr. Curry in Cincinnati does VSG and I heard a couple in Columbus do it too, but I'm not sure who it is here.

Hi, I am going through Parma General Hospital, the surgeon there is Dr. Craig Eyman, I have gone to his seminar and he is very good.  I am scheduled to start my appointments at the end of August 2008, I am very excited about his program.

I highly recommend Dr. Z. at Summa Akron City. The program there is so thorough. I am just 3 weeks post-op. I had a very good experience with them. They look athte whole picture and have a good support mechanism and staff.  Good luck on your journey... Tom from Akron
