Dr. Lane's office
Many patients who have had surgery or were doing work up for surgery with Dr. Lane in Bowling Green Ohio may be surprised when they call the office. Dr. Lane isn't there any longer.
Dr. lane has been offered and accepted a position with the University of Toledo Medical Center UTMC- formerly "MCO" to do laparoscopic bariatric and general surgery. It is his goal to coninue to provide personal and comprehensive care for weight loss surgery patients.
This transition has led to much confusion and fear on the part of patients. If you began the surgery process with Dr. Lane and wish to continue with Dr. Lane you may do so at UTMC it is simply a matter of changing the hospital location with your insurance. If you meet with the new surgeon at Wood County and wish to have surgery with him, you need to change the physician with the insurance company. EITHER way is possible and relatively simple. the choice of whom you have do your surgery is yours and yours alone. The state of Ohio has many surgeons who offer various bariatric surgeries, research them all!
I heard about this I was really disappointed his office didn't take the time to infor his patients. But I don't really like his office they have been very rude to me and I guess I am supposed to go back after I have my baby but I don't even have any idea which dr I am supposed to goto. It would have been nice for him or his office staff to let his patients know.

I got a letter from Dr. Lane yesterday, so watch your mail.
Unfortuantly, I think these moves are more than just a doctor moving to provide better or different care. They are also complex business issues involved between the hospitals and the doctors etc., so there is a certain level of secrecy until the deal is done.
Which doctor you treat with is entirely up to you (and who your insurance will pay for!) I don't think the entire staff at BG went with Dr. Lane. I know Amy went, and I think Darcy. If BG is convenient to you, you could check out the new guy there and see if you like him or continue to treat with Dr. Lane in Toledo. I just had a hernia repair with Dr Lane at UTMC this week. Things are a little chaotic up there as they are still getting settled and the nurses don't know him yet, but overall it was a good experience. There are certainly more resources there than at Wood Co.
Keep your options open and find out which doc works best for you. It's YOUR health!

Imagine going into your doctor's office and seeing boxes everywhere and no one is around but the maintenance people. doctor is That's what happened to me on my visit to Dr. Lane's office with the Dietitcian. I was shocked. The Dietitician tried to explain what was going on and of course she couldn't say much, but I work in an office and know when things are fishy. I have three months to go with the Dietitcian and then I'm ready for surgery. What really made me mad is the way they handled it. Apparently he has no regard for his patients. Dr. Lane has my medical chart and he or his staff could have certainly written letters to his patients to keep them up to date of what was happening. Mind you, I have not EVEN had the opportunity to meet Dr. Lane, even though he was the one that was going to be my surgeon. He must be too busy for little things like meeting his patients. I was not impressed with the staff either. They did not look very happy working for him. Happily, my experience has gotten much better. Two of my co-workers got their surgeries last December and this April. They could not locate Dr. Lane for their follow up and constriction problems and word was he was working out of his home....sounds real impressive. After this nightmare, I have chosen Dr. Lalor as my doctor. I have gone to his seminar, had my consultation and I am very impressed. Hopefully my choice of surgeon is correct, Dr. Lane pretty much made that decision for me.
