6 days post op
Hello All! My daughter and I had our surgeries done on July3. It all went without a hitch. No problems to speak of just lots of pain and nausea the first couple of days. We got home on Monday and have been trying to adjust to everyday life, without having to go to work or getting to eat a meal that is.....How normal is that? HaHa! I just wanted to say the my experience with the Cleveland Clinic and Dr Brethauer and his team was incredible. What a fabulous bunch of professionals they all were! I felt very well cared for. And dont forget, my daughter was on the table first that day.....so my anxiety level could have been off the charts. But everyone was so terrific. They even have a woman there that works in the OR and had her surgery done there approx 3 yrs ago that stays with the patients before surgery and holds your hand until you are asleep then pops in and out of the OR to update the family members and kept everyone calm and informed. I felt like she was my personal angel that day. I was directly across the hall from the OR in induction while my daughter was having surgery and she would come out every 15-20 minutes with updates on her condition to keep me sane, God Bless her! Anyway, if anyone is considering the Cleveland Clinic or Dr Brethauer I would be more than happy to answer any questions!!! Have a lovely day!
Congratulations to you and your daughter for going through this surgery together. You each have your own support person. I, too, just had my lapband surgery at the Cleveland Clinic a week ago Tuesday (July1). My surgeon was Dr. Philip Schauer, and knew I made a good choice in this doctor, too. He has a great bedside manner and answers all of your questions in a way they are easily understood (and has the bluest eyes you've ever seen). I am still a little sore, but see improvements every day in my recovery. You and your daughter will, too. Again, congrats to the both of you.
