VSG in Ohio or somewhere else?

Hi Everyone.  Can some of you share your experiences with where you found to do the VSG.  It seems so new that it is difficult to find info.  I did see that Ohio does more than other states, but the couple of Dr's in Mexico have done a lot more!  Thanks for your help. I've learned so much from all of you!

My doctor, Dr. Curry, in Cincinnati, does the VSG.  He performs the surgery at Jewish Hospital, not very far from his office.  I went to him specifically for the VSG but my insurance didn't cover it, so I switched over to a LapBand, which I had at Jewish.  All of the nurses were so nice there, I has a very good experience.   Here's Dr. Curry's web site:  http://www.thebanddoctor.com/default There is info on the VSG there.

My doctor, Dirk Rodriguez, did my open RNY, 9-4-07. He also does the vertical gastrectomy and lap bands.  His office is in Deaconess Hospital, where he does surgery.  Deaconess has received the  center of excellance certification.  Many of his staff have had one of the WLS procedures.  His office has arranged special financing for self-pay people.  His program focuses on nutrition, exercise and pschology.  He emphases that the surgery is a tool, and that we do the work.  His support group meets every month.  He doesn't separate pre and post op people.  There phone nurmber is 513-559-2545.  There website is www.newyourealyou.com. I hope this helps.

Dr. Peter Lalor at the Center for Weight Loss Surgery at Wood County Hospital in Bowling Green does the VSG, as well as the Roux-en-Y and the LapBand procedures.
