Any one a Patient of Dr Teel?
Dr. Teel just did my RNY a week ago. I love him and his office!! I feel great one week out and as of today have lost 18 lbs since surgery. The office staff rocks, especially Jennifer she sent through my paperwork and had an approval in 3 days! I think you will be very happy with your choice. I did a presurgery diet but much less extreme than some. It was two lean cuisines and 3 sugar free carnation instant breakfasts a day plus two cups of low fat vegetables. I didn't find it hard at all.
good luck

I did not have Dr Teel for my surgeon I had Dr. Maguire for my revision from RNY to Distal RNY. I had this done in January. Dr. maguire went on vacation while I was still in the hospital and Dr. Teel did my follow care and he was wonderful. I work at Miami Valley and I have heard nothing but wonderful things about him. The office staff is wonderful too. I think you h ave made an excellent choice in choosing this practice which ever Dr. performs the surgery you will be in good hands. As for the pre-op diet it was just lean cuisen's and instant breakfast drinks and this in basically to get you on the right track and help shrink the liver some before surgery. No one that I am aware of had any trouble following it. One of my good friends had Dr. Teel perform her DS and she is doing great.....over 100 pounds lost since October of last year. If you have any other questions about the practice surgery types or Miami Valley Hospital in general feel free to PM me and I will help you n whatever way that I can.
Take care,
Beth
Dr. Teel (Dr. Hottie as me and my mother call him) is a great doctor! I was his1st or 2nd realize band patient...(not sure if the guy before me got a lapband or realize band) I was one of those patients that Dr. Curry was in the O.R. when he was proctoring him.
He's straight forward and offers excellent after care and follow-ups! His staff is wonderful and gives great encouragement. You will however need to follow a pre-op diet....same as above lean cusine's and carnation instant breakfasts (sugar free). It's not that hard though i'm not going to lie and say its a breeze either! it does take a little getting used to if you were a big eater like i was.
