self pay in ohio

I am saving for a vsg, my insurance will not cover wls and I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for a good surgeon in ohio who does the sleeve for a reasonable self-pay price. I would like to stay in the country if I can but it seems like the only affordable surgeons are in Mexico.

Ren, I'm not sure what Dr. Curry charges for self-pay, but I do know that he does the VSG.

Call around to different docs in your area or within driving distance. I have heard that several docs and hospitals do give a discount for self pay. Good Luck,  Robin

Thank you both for your replies, I will call Dr. Curry I have heard good things about him, and I'll call around to others. I didn't know that some had lower rates for self-pay. Thanks I'll do some investigating

I know that Deaconess Hospital in Cincinnati has a financial plan for people who are self pay.  I had my surgery there in Sept. 07 by Dr. Rodriguez.  He is an excellent surgeon.  The staff are very caring and detail oriented.  There number is 1-513-559-2545 www.newyourealyou.com is there web site.  Hope this helps.

Dr. Pleatman is in Michigan (around the Detroit area) and does the VSG for about $11,500.  He did my RNY and so far so good! If you google his name (Mark A. Pleatman) you'll find his website.
