Leaving in the morning for the Cleveland Clinic for my surgery on Tuesday.
I won't be on the message board for a few days, because me and my DH are leaving early in the morning (Monday) for the Cleveland Clinic. Since we live so far away (4 hrs & 180 plus miles one way), we are driving up tomorrow for all of my pre-op tests and registration for admittance to the hospital Tuesday morning. I will have my testing done tomorrow, then we will be staying in the Guesthouse on campus, behind the hospital so we will be close by for my surgery the following morning (Tuesday July1st). I will find out the time of my surgery sometime Monday. Today I am sticking close to home and my bathroom because I have to do the bowel prep today and be on liquids only up until the night before surgery...then I have to fast after midnight. Am I nervous ??...yes and no. I'm trying not to think about it too much, but I know I will be when Tuesday morning comes. I have the utmost confidence in my surgeon, Dr. Schauer, and know, with God's help, I will come through just fine. I will update how my surgery went, and how I am feeling post-op when I am up to coming back to the messageboards.
Say a little prayer for me, and I will be back home sometime Wednesday evening. I dread the long ride back home the day after surgery. Ouch! (Bringing my pillow along) Then I have to come back 1 week later to the CC for my post-op follow up appt.

Hi, Susie! I did not see your post until today (Thursday), so hopefully everything went well with your surgery and you're up and moving about already, perhaps even preparing to go home. You were in excellent surgical hands - Dr. Schauer did my lap-RNY back in 2005, and I've had great results. I felt truly blessed to have him as my surgeon...
I hope you have an uneventful and speedy recovery - the first few weeks are the most challenging, but you will come through with flying colors. Good luck on your continuing journey -
Kellie
