HELP!! I need encouragment!!

As many of you know I have been trying to get my approval forever!!! Well I got it last week, and then I was told I would have to wait two weeks to get a date!!!

Well It has been less then one, and I got a letter in the mail saying my surgery will be on the 18th!! July 18th!!!

So when i first read it, I was so happy!~! I have so much to do, and not very long. Plus I will just be getting home on the 17th from a mini vacation!!!

Well now I am scared! I am scared, what if's. I know I am a good candiate (according to my doctor)  but I have two small kids, and three step kids!! I am so scared. I know I need this. I am doing this so I can live a long successful life with them!!!  

Any words of encourgment would be great thanks!!

Take a deep breath.  It will happen.  Do you have an pre-op testing to schedule?  Do you have to do a pre-op diet? Get a list of everything you need for after surgery because you won't want/be able to (due to pain meds) drive for a week or so. Ask any questions you have on OH and  to your surgeon.  No question is unimportant. Good luck!

I talked with the lady at the office, and she said she did not believe I need anything else done!! However I do have a diet to follow 14 days of liquids!! Kinf od stinks that it will start the day before my big cookout. I will have 80 people from 7 differnet states here on Sat the 5th. I am cooking for a army and the are all bring something in too!!!!   But I will follow my dr. Trust me I have a ton of questions for you ladies!!!!! I know some of them have been asked 100000000000 times, but I forgotten the answers!!

It's only natural to be scared.   WLS is a major surgery which requires life long changes.  But, think how much better your quality of life will be afterwards.  You'll be able to run and play with your kids, and won't have to worry about not having enough energy to keep up with them.  Try to relax, take a deep breath, and remember all the reasons you decided to have it in the first place.   My surgery is August 6, so I know exactly how you feel.  Congratulations, and good luck!

Congrats on your date~~ Our surgerys are really close together!! I am very excitied!!! I do ALOT with my kids, I coach T ball and soccer. But that is for little kids, I was a very good athletic and I have taken the coaches clinics. I do not coach my older son because I can not keep up with them and I am not in the shape to show them teh proper way.  I am so excitied I want to be healthy, I love my kids, and my hubsand. I want to be around for many more years to come with them!

Today is my six month surgaversary and it's worth every little ping and pang you go through.  Think good thoughts and know that you are doing this for your health and for your family.  Take one day at a time. Make lists and get things together a little bit every day. Don't do it all at once start now and get what you will need and day by day it will all get done. This will keep your mind off of being nervous and having those no-no bad thoughts. Good luck to you! You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you, I know I will be busy all this week and all the week prior to my sugery. It is the middle week, I need to fill in. I will make the list and do a little each day! That is a great idea!

You will be fine! I know it's scary, but it's so worth it! I'm 6 1/2 mos out and 78lbs down, I feel amazing and can do so much more than I could before. Your kids are gonna LOVE it when the Mommy they know and love now can participate so much more in their lives! Congrats on getting a date & Good Luck! i'll be praying for you!

I know it's scary when you realize how close it is, hell if they didn't give me something to knock me out when they did I might have chickened out. But here I am today a lil over four months out and down alomst one hundred pounds from where I started, over eighty of that since my surgery and am ahppier with my life than I have ever been. I can do more, and have so much more energy. Just know we are all here with you to hold your hand and yes I'll even do phone calls if you need that. I'm only a message away if you ever need me.
