Hello all. I was banded on June 12. I actually feel pretty good. I am a little sore. My problem is that I feel like I can eat anything.I actually ate 2 potato chips. Please help. Should I be able to eat things?

It is my understanding that with the band you CAN eat anything but the questions is SHOULD you eat it.  What instructions did your doc and nut give you as to what food you SCHOULD ne eating this early out? Robin

Didn't your doctor's office give you a food plan to follow for post op?  I know every doctor is different as far as their post op diet goes but mine was clear liquids-day of surgery; 2 weeks of pureed, 2 weeks of soft foods, then regular foods.  You need to give your stomach time to heal which is why you should be eating pureed food or full liquids.  If you try to eat anything it could cause your band to slip.  You need to check with your doctor if you can't find your instructions.  Anyway, Good Luck on your journey and welcome to the Loser's Bench.

First, check your nutrition book.  It should give you some information until you can call the office 559-2545 and talk to Jessica. Potato chips are high in fat and carbs. Jessica can help you make your choices.  Are you keeping your food diary?

That was my fear with the band, as I have no self control. I second what everyone above has said. Talk to your nut and do what he/she says. They really will know best.
