So as many of you know, I have been extremly busy!! I got a call from Doctors office this AM!!! They FINALLY Submitted my info, after I layed into the lady yeasterday! I explained to her my situation, and told her I trusted her, and I felt as though I was lied too!!! She called and let me know that she sent the papers in yeasterday. She told me it took 2-3 weeks for approval. I was like okay! She was afraid I might need to do one more thing, but we would wait and see.  So I called insurance company to make sure she had sent them and they recieved them. They said they got them today!!  (*DOING HAPPY DANCE) They lady said they would have a decision in 2-3 business days!!  But it looked like I met all requirements, but they might want me to see a dietians. I seen a nutristiast, but they might not!!  So I should know in the next two days, what I need to do. I just hope and pray that they approve me!! Just my stomach is in knots! So please think about me, and pray for approval!! I plan on calling them back tomorrow afternoon (insurance company) what do you think???

I'm glad you finally got everything submitted.  I know it's hard to wait even  a couple of days for a response, but I would wait the 2 or 3 days before calling them.  I would definitely call after that, though, because sometinmes it takes FOREVER for insurance companies to send the approval letters to the clients.  (Aetna approved my panniculectomy as medically necessary on June 19th (yay!!!), and faxed the approval to the plastic surgeon, but I still do not have the approval letter they were sending out to me. Keeping my fingers crossed for you... Lora

That is great, when are you having it done!!  So you finally found a doctor to submit to the insuracne? If so who?  I know I am a long way from that but I just am trying to keep notes of stuff like that!

Yes, I finally found ONE in Dayton, but a friend of mine called his office to schedule an appt for the same thing (with insurance) and was told he is no longer accepting insurance because of "problems" with getting insurance payments... so it looks like God was looking out for me and got me in "under the wire".  I see him on Monday to actually schedule the panni removal (and find out what the plan is for dealing with an issue I have with not being able to just cut and cauterize a large vein that runs across my pelvis).  It will be sometime this month or next month, though, because I lose the insuracne that approved it in September! The only person I know of who is still accepting insurance for panni removal is Dr. Butterfield (north of Cincy). Lora

Lora,

Not trusting anyone after so long a wait, I asked the insurance company to fax me a copy of the letter.  That wasn't a problem.

Continued prayers and good thoughts for you!

LOL you are exactly right, but GUESS WHAT!! My dr's office called and ask if I had a prefernce of surgery days, I said ASAP!! She said she would check schedule and call insurance company back!  And they said they needed a date for surgery!! I think that is a good sign! I might be wrong!  But I will wait until Monday now, unless I hear from Dr's office!!

So glad to hear that things are finally moving for you.  I know it is an long wait to get everything in place and frustrating at times.  I can't believe that one year ago, I met with my surgeon and everything started for me.  I had to do the 6 month supervised diet stuff, but the time seemed like eternity then.  I had my surgery in Dec and will be 6 months out next week.  The time has flown by since surgery. I hope things move fast to your date.  Good luck!
