Anyone having Dr. Choban doing their WLS.....
...at Mount Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio? How long does it "usually" take to get a surgery date? Or how long did it take you? My insurance has been approved for a month now. I am anxiously waiting to start my journey!! I know because I am having LAP Gastric Bypass there has to be two surgeons. So I'm sure the wait is on Dr. Price to find a spot in his busy schedule....but the waittttiiiinngggg is so hard.
Yes, same here , I had Dr. Price for my lapband surgery and once I knew I had insurance approval I had a surgery date within about 2 days and the procedure was scheduled for about 2 weeks out. Congrats. You'll love Dr. Choban and its true that the three doctors at Mt. Carmel back each other up on cases but I think they do the procedures separately unless they ask one of the others to be there if its a difficult case.
I was approved in March, but I could not get a date until May. I'll be having my Lap Bypass on 5/29. Dr Miller will be primary surgeon with Dr. Price assisting. Yes the scheduling is complicated by the need for 2 surgeons, but I was reminded that bypass is not the only procedure that Dr. Price performs and that other gastric surgeries /procedures have to be scheduled as well. The wait period between approval and surgery appears to be around 2 - 2.5 months. I feel confidant that you being hearing from Mid-OH real soon! I was nervous about getting a date before my insurance expired at the end of June!
