Dr. Victor Stelmack ?
he is a doll and i miss him!!he did my surgery 3/04 in columbus--he cuts no punches on initial consult....but he is wonderful!!
i do wonder about him leaving there-his family was back east and so he wanted to be closer to them-parents--but i also think that there may have been some barix issues that he had troubles with...can't prove anything......
he takes the time to explain how he sews you up inside and he seems to really know his stuff! i chose open rny and he felt that it was better due to being under anesthesia less time as well as he could then touch each organ (ie gall bladder ect) to be sure that they were ok.dang--i miss him!!!!
he was thorough in pretests ordered and he wa sthe first to suggest that i possibly had sleep apnea..which i did ....
did i say that i miss him???if he were still here i might actually go to columbus for my after care still!!!!!!
i do have an evaluation of sorts on my profile......best to you whatever you do!
I had Dr. Stelmack and I am thoroughly delighted and grateful that I had him do my surgery. I had open RNY on 02/17/04 with NO complications. He is everything Margo says and I, too, MISS HIM TERRIBLY!! I've known that he's been in VA for awhile now. I wish he was still in Columbus.
He is a VERY competent surgeon, did I say I had NO complications? He did a great surgery on me and I have never regretted having him as my surgeon. You will be in good hands with the wonderful surgeon. Sometime I'm going to contact him with an update just because.....:)
